Antica Distilleria Quaglia

Country: Italy

Region: Torino

Founded in the late 1800’s, four generations of the Quaglia family have guided the business through more than a century of artisan production, modernising it where needed whilst cherishing the older, traditional methods of distilling. The distillery was established just after the Unification of Italy in 1871 between Monferrato and the hills towards Turin.

Winemaking

Alcohol is infused with a selection of herbs and spices, including; wormwood, juniper, rhubarb, myrrh, licorice, vanilla, mint, amung others, for a 60 day period. The botanicals are then pressed and sugar and Piemontese wine (80% Cortese DOC, 20% Barbera d’Asti DOCG) are added to make the Vermouth, followed by a light filtration and bottling.
