Chateau de Campuget 1753 Syrah 2016

The right bank of the Rhone (the Gard department) is known for its Syrah. This is a fine example, packing plenty of plum and garrigue into a full-bodied, well-structured wine. Dried herbs, cocoa powder and espresso mingle on the still firm finish.

Description: This wine is Campuget’s latest addition to their portfolio. There is a document in the possession of the Dalle family that shows the vineyards of Campuget were mentioned in 1753. This 100% Syrah pays homage to this age-old wine tradition of winemaking at Campuget. It is made in stainless steel, with no oak treatment whatsoever. The wine is aged in vats for 6 to 7 months before being bottled at the Château.
